About the Conference

The three DHB’s in Auckland are delighted to present this year's Occupational Health & Safety Conference. The conference will run in conjunction with a Safe Handling Workshop to be held on day one of the National Conference.

The National DHB OH&S Conference is an annual event that has been occurring since 1994.  OH&S practitioners from all DHBs across new Zealand attend this event.  The conference host location alternates between the north and south islands;  last year (2006) it was hosted by Canterbury DHB and  held in Christchurch.

The conference is held over two days and generally has a key theme that speakers are invited to address various facets of. The overarching purpose of the conference is to provide a professional development and networking opportunity to OH&S professionals working within the DHBs of New Zealand. In addition the conference is an opportunity for open forum discussion of H&S practice within New Zealand with a view to achieving consistent, evidence based best practice across the country.
